The Alzheimer’s Aware Toolkit is a collection of resources and promotional materials for law enforcement agencies, local governments and concerned community groups to use to develop their local strategies to improve awareness of Alzheimer’s-related issues in their communities. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the needs within your own community—whether frequent instances of wandering and the distribution and use of locative technologies, creation of a local registry and encouraging the registration of those at risk of wandering, addressing the needs of families and caregivers, or promoting services available to the community—and as an agency or community develop a plan to address your community’s specific needs.
On this page you will find informational, promotional and marketing materials that can be downloaded and customized with your agency and community information. Also available are creative guidelines developed to encourage a standardized look for campaigns from community to community. This standardization is critical to increasing the identification of the Alzheimer’s Aware strategy across communities thereby improving recognition and visibility.
Additional information and support for Alzheimer’s Aware projects can be found on the Resources page. We encourage you to visit this page to learn more about the Alzheimer’s Aware concept and how establishing and maintaining a holistic strategy, within your community, can help protect those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and provide support to families and caregivers.
